This was the 25th annual event in aid of the Mumbles RNLI. The target to raise a sum of £25,000 was acheived by the efforts of many companies and individuals from the area.
The raft was constructed in Swansea by the team and plans to make modifications to it for next years race are already under way. All the materials used were recycled, and the grahics, decals and banners were printed in house on recyclable materials using environmentaly freindly inks.

Harcourt Litho signs up Newport County FC
Today Harcourt Litho Printing, the Swansea based printer, was able to confirm that they had agreed a deal with Newport County FC to print the clubs programmes for the forth coming season.
Harcourt Litho printed the clubs programmes throughout the last season, obviously deadlines were and are a very important factor when taking into consideration the placement of such an important contract. The Harcourt Litho colour print team are at it again! For the 6th 
year on the trot staff and management from the Uk's discount printing company will take part in the BHF charity fund raising event. The British Heart Foundation event raises large amounts of funding to enable heart research. The 12 strong team known as the Hardcore Flyers are in training for the Swansea, Gower ride on the 5th of July 2009. The spotlight will be firmly focused on Swansea College’s star students next week when they take to the stage for the 2009 Annual Awards, held in association with First Cymru.
Over 30 separate awards will be handed out during the course of the glitzy event at the Brangwyn Hall, with recipients representing every aspect of college life from arts, sport and engineering to business, languages and beauty.
Popular Swansea Sound DJ Kevin Johns is once again hosting the event, where students will be honoured for their academic and personal achievements over the last year.
Special guests including Paralympic double Gold medallist Ellie Simmonds, Deputy Minister for Skills John Griffiths AM, Andrew Davies AM and Leader of the Council Chris Holley will take their seats alongside students, staff and governors from the college.
“We look forward to this event every year as it’s an opportunity to truly celebrate our students,” says Principal Jeff Gunningham. “Also, for the first time, we will be including a Tutor of the Year award at next week’s event and we were delighted that so many students put pen to paper to nominate their tutors for this wonderful award. Despite public concerns regarding the future economic climate Harcourt Litho Print the UK's discount printer in swansea has invested in the latest Mimaki large format printing and finishing plant. An undisclosed sum has been spent on, a Mimaki JV53, Mimaki CG160, Easymount laminator and other associated ancillary equipment.
The investment at the Swansea headquarters is expected to create further job / employment opportunities and ensure Harcourt Litho's continued success as a major supplier of printed and printing products throughout the UK. Part of the decision making process was Harcourt Litho winning the contract to supply FW Woolworth stores throughout Wales with large format banners for their stores. The new contract between Harcourt Litho and Woolworths will involve Harcourt Litho changing instore display stands, window vinyls and decals and window posters. The opportunity to produce litho printed work will be on a competitive tender basis, a Harcourt Litho spokesman said '' we are confident our competitive pricing policy will ensure our volume of Woolworths business will increase on an annual basis''. We guess thats just the wonder of Woolies!

Harcourt Litho Colour Printers, Swansea have now ordered the latest Screen PlateRite 6600S platesetter. platerite_6600S.gif This investment will triple the output of colour printing plates from their swansea reprographics department, enabling Harcourt Litho to continue to offer a second to none delivery time.
January 2009
Harcourt litho have today anounced plans to expand production facilities at their Swansea headquarters, a further 3000 square feet of production area will house the new platesetter and large format / display printing plant.
Relocation of the reprographics section will free up about 1500 square feet of floor space. Plans to fill this space with perfect binding plant are well under way, so watch this space!

As Uk fundraising was about to reach fever pitch, Harcourt Litho received a call from the parents of two Swansea Valley school girls, the girls where involved in a school fundraising activity for Comic Relief 2009/10 They were expecting delivery of a large format poster printing that they had ordered elsewhere to promote the day only to find out that the poster order had been over looked and not been printed.
Harcourt Litho Print were only too happy to help. Upon receipt of a file via Mail Big File the A1 full colour poster was printed on the new Mimaki large format printer in under 20 minutes. One of the Harcourt litho fleet of vehicles fitted with satelite tracking was sent out to the awaiting Swansea Valley School girls who were delighted that all their efforts wouldnt be in vain. Well done and good luck ladies!!
