Your Guide to Paper sizes
At Harcourt Litho we have presses which can take a maximum sheet size of B2, 520mm x 720mm.
The most common printer sheet size is SRA sizes, below we show pictorally what sizes and its name, and how they are calculated out of a larger sheet size.
For example an A3 sheet (420mm x 297mm) comes out of an A2 sheet (594mm x 420mm) twice.
The SRA & B sizes work in exactly the same way, the additional area on these sheet sizes are to allow for bleeds, grips, colour bars etc. (see our A-Z guide)
The most economical way of producing a job is to get the maximum amount of pages out of a particular sheet size or leaving the least amount of wasted space.
If you have for example a job that is 10000 A5 leaflets
We would calculate this to be produced most economically as 8 A5 pages out of an A2 sheet. Allowing 1250 sheets.
Ideally specify the longest dimension first, and be specific if the job is to be portrait or landscape.
A6 - 148mm x 105mm
A5 - 210mm x 148mm
A4 - 297mm x 210mm
A3 - 420mm x 297mm
A2 - 594mm x 420mm
1/3 A4 - 210mm x 99mm
A4 6 page - 630mm x 297mm
A5 6 page - 444mm x 210mm
Printers B5 - 240mm x 165mm
Printers B4 - 330mm x 240mm
